Surprise! The term “rape culture” is ” TOO liberal” for a self proclaimed womanizing older white male! The world of slut shaming and rape culture are definitely intertwined and I’d be proud to have a 13 year old kid so aware of the world and so vocal about some of the most important issues that are a part of EVERY woman’s life, young and old.

Although this video will just aggravate most of us, I feel its important to really take something away from this other than “oh my god males totally dont understand and are misogynists and pigs and deny rape culture blah blah”. (which is a response I’ve heard from several people) This video is important because it shows how little knowledge and understanding older males really have of the topics of slut shaming and rape culture, it shows the obvious disconnect between the important issues of young women and the social understanding of older males. As young women we need to be really careful to elect people who dont see these things as foreign or imaginary, but as real issues every woman should be knowledgeable and vocal about, whether 10, 13, 16, 21, 30, etc. It is never too early for a young woman to be aware of the world around her and to speak out openly against prejudice and sexual violence.  It is also never too late to educate older generations about the really serious issues women face today, because it is very apparent they just dont get it.
